About Justin McCullough

Growth Strategist. Operator.
Builder of What's Next.

Justin McCullough has spent 30 years at the intersection of strategy and execution — helping companies turn vision into growth that compounds. His career spans e-commerce, fintech, proptech, IoT, energy, smart buildings, and professional services, from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises.

Two companies built and sold. Hundreds of go-to-market initiatives led. But the thing that shaped his work most wasn't any single role. It was a pattern he kept seeing everywhere.

How This Work Began

The Gap Between Intention and
Action Became His Life's Work

Early in his career, Justin built his first company from scratch — an e-commerce platform that grew to 500+ customers before he sold it. That experience taught him what no corporate role could: what it feels like to carry the full weight of growth and consequence on your own shoulders.

From there, he moved into enterprise leadership. Capital One. FSG Smart Buildings. CBRE. The scale was larger but the pattern was the same. Every organization had smart people and clear ambition. And yet — execution kept breaking down. Initiatives stalled. Teams were busy but misaligned. Leaders carried too much.

Strategy was rarely the constraint.
Execution clarity was.

The gap between what leadership intended and what actually got executed — that was where growth stalled and potential went unrealized. Justin started calling it execution drag. And over time, diagnosing it, naming it, and eliminating it became the center of everything he built.

Not because he set out to create a methodology. But because every role demanded it. The Clarity Execution System, the frameworks, the diagnostic tools — all forged inside real operating environments, not designed in a workshop. Today, that experience is what Justin brings to CEOs and leadership teams navigating growth — helping them eliminate execution drag and build the architecture that turns strategy into compounding results.

HOW HE SEES THE WORK

What Most Leaders Get Wrong
About Growth.

Most growing companies treat execution as an operational problem — more tools, more coordinators, more meetings. Justin watched this cycle repeat inside every organization he led, including his own. The tools changed. The problem never did.

What he came to understand — first inside Capital One where seven product lines had to execute as one, then at FSG where he built a division from zero — is that execution isn't an operations problem. It's a clarity problem. When leadership teams lack shared understanding of what matters most, when the invisible work between departments goes unseen — that's not a team failure. It's a systems failure.

The companies that achieve exponential growth are the ones where vision, alignment, and execution operate as a single connected system. That's what the Clarity Execution System was built to create — an operating architecture that turns strategy into weekly momentum.

That experience carried forward into executive roles where he helped scale teams, launch products, drive transformation initiatives, and align organizations around execution.

Across both entrepreneurial and enterprise environments, the pattern remained the same:

Strategy was rarely the problem.
Execution clarity
was.

The Work Today

Designing Clarity Systems for Leadership Teams

Justin works with CEOs and leadership teams to build execution architecture that creates trust, ownership, and momentum — so growth doesn't depend on heroics.

Aligning Leadership Teams Around Priorities

Everyone understands what matters, who owns what, and how their work connects to the company's most important objectives.

Translating Strategy into Operational Rhythm

Not just a vision deck — a cadence of execution with defined milestones, decision frameworks, and progress your team can feel.

Reducing Friction Between Functions

Product, sales, marketing, and operations stop working in parallel silos. Cross-functional execution becomes coordinated and visible.

Building Systems That Outlast Any One Leader

Operating rhythms, accountability structures, and team capability that compounds over time — not dependency on founder bandwidth.

The result is not simply better planning — but healthier execution culture and organizations where leadership capacity grows alongside the business.

THE CLARITY EXECUTION SYSTEM

Patterns That Became a Practical System

Over time, recurring execution patterns led Justin to codify his experience into a practical system for leadership alignment and execution design.

The Clarity Execution System is not a theoretical framework. It is a set of operating principles built from real-world leadership environments, designed to help teams move from scattered effort to coordinated impact.

Clarity creates confidence.
Alignment creates speed.
Systems create freedom.

Operating Convictions

1

Clarity is the highest-leverage move a leader can make. Most performance problems are clarity problems in disguise.

2

Systems scale. Heroes don't. The best leaders build architecture that elevates people rather than depending on them.

3

Execution is a cultural force. When work is visible, people feel seen. Trust and performance follow.

4

Growth should compound, not grind. If every quarter demands more effort for marginally better results, the system is broken.

5

Leadership maturity is building environments where others thrive.

Introducing

Justin McCullough

CEO of OnyxUnlocks, 4x Fortune 500 Leader, and 3x Founder.

Justin believes leadership is stewardship — that the people and vision entrusted to a leader deserve clarity, not chaos. That you can pursue aggressive growth and still protect the people driving it. That execution, done right, builds trust and gives people dignity in their work.

That conviction is rooted in his Christian faith. Justin views work as service, leadership as a calling, and the marketplace as a place where purpose and performance operate together. It's not separate from the strategy work — it's the foundation of it. His approach has always been the same regardless of who's across the table: lead with competence, operate with integrity, care about people as much as outcomes.

Mission 3:23 — Justin co-founded Mission 3:23, a community for Christian business owners and leaders who see their work as ministry — for those who want to lead with purpose and build businesses that honor both people and calling. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord."

Working Together

Organizations Typically Engage Justin When

Growth has outpaced execution — and the team feels it in meetings, handoffs, and momentum
The leadership team feels misaligned — not in conflict, but not pulling in the same direction
Strategy exists but momentum stalls — the plan is clear, but execution is fragmented
Execution feels heavier than it should — too many priorities, too little clarity, too much reliance on the founder
The organization is navigating transformation — scaling, integrating, or building for a new phase of growth

His Role

Justin's role is not to replace leadership — but to help leaders see clearly, align decisively, and execute with confidence.

He helps leadership teams build the conditions where value emerges predictably — through clarity, systems, and the kind of organizational maturity that compounds long after any single engagement ends.
